Sarah Elgart | Arrogant Elbow creates performance spectacles of startling and beautiful visual imagery. SE|AE engages audiences by transforming and catalyzing sites, stage, and screen, painting them with singular visuals and movement drawn from the quotidian human experience.

In addition to circus and traditional proscenium houses, SE|AE has created original works for public sites including airports, bus terminals, corporate plazas, gardens, and museums.  Venues include the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Cathedral Saint John the Divine, The Bradbury Building, MASS MoCA, LACMA and more.  SE/AE works regularly with composers and musicians including Nels Cline, Yuval Ron, and Paul Chavez & Feltlike, and collaborates with visual artists and directors including Stephen Glassman, Kevin Kerslake, and Gary Baseman.  SE|AE has received grants from the NEA, Rockefeller Foundation, City of LA Department of Cultural Affairs, Englehard Hanovia Foundation and much more.   

Sarah Elgart is an award-winning choreographer/director who has trained in NY, LA, and Europe, including at Folkwang Hochshule – Pina Bausch’s school in Germany.  She has worked extensively in film creating choreography for groundbreaking directors including JJ Abrams, Catherine Hardwicke, Fredrik Bond, and David Lynch
